The Problem...
Many people living with HIV / AIDS feel isolated and alone. Often, the people closest to them feel hopeless and overwhelmed. The medical and social service systems are complicated and difficult to navigate. In addition, many available resources may be unknown to those most needing them.

The Responce...
KentCares is our community's responce to the many problems facing persons infected with HIV / AIDS. Trained volunteers can answer questions, explain available resources, access services and help advocate when needed.

The Services...
KentCares is housed in University Health Services and provides its services in cooperation with Kent State University. KentCares works within a network of appropriate agencies to ensure quality services for our clients and their families.

Services Include...
Volunteer home health care assesment

Education about the disease process for both the infected and affected.

Violet's Cupboard, which provides food and medical supplies.

Help in negotiating the medical and social service systems. (Case Management)

Emergency assistance through The Ryan White Program.

All ot the above services are free of charge.
