The idea of creating unique cards came by way of an accident, of course. "I was disappointed that there wasn't a great selection of masculine stationery available", says Frank or "Paco".
(Paco is a nickname for men named Francisco). So, Frank considered the possibility of manufacturing personalized stationery. But to do so, and in order to preserve the fine art of writing, Frank bought a starter calligraphy set and several text books on calligraphy.
Many months later with much wasted paper and spilled ink, the flourishes became much more believable but, to master calligraphy, one would need years of diligent practice.
The idea of creating cards was a way to sell calligraphy. Frank's first cards were made of decorative paper, embossing inks, pigmented ink and glitter, glitter, glitter. Then, acrylic paints were tested and much to his astonishment, he was able to make the brush work.
Perseverance, courage and encouragement brought Frank to the present day. A native of Akron, Ohio, Frank spent twelve years on the East Coast with six years in the submarine service and six years in the city of Boston.
