[In Chapter 6, Dan brought his new friend Mike home from the hospital. To stop Mike's pain, Dan gave him a pain killer that Dr. Jim at prescribed. Mike fell into a deep sleep. While Mike slept, Dan raped him. Then, Dan crawled into bed with Mike and fell asleep.]
At 7 a.m., the alarm woke the two men. Dan turned in the bed remembered where he was and what had happened last night. Still sluggish from the pain pill, Mike groaned and sat up in bed. He looked at Dan in disbelief. "You're here," he said.
"Yes, I told you I'd stay with you. I'm still here."
"Good," said Mike as he reached over to Dan and kissed him on the cheek. "We still haven't had a real first date, have we?"
Dan laughed. "It may be too late for a first date. Let's plan a second date and a third and a fourth. Mike, can I get anything for you?"
"Yes, coffee. I need lots of coffee to wake up. That pill knocked me out. I slept like the dead. I need something to get me going."
Nude, Dan descended the staircase and in the kitchen made coffee. He carried the coffee filled mugs, sugar and cream on a tray to the bedroom. Mike was in the bathroom taking a shower.
"Here's the coffee," Dan shouted above the water.
"Here's the shower. Come join me," Mike said.
Dan sat the tray on the bed and walked into the bathroom, into the shower and into Mike's open arms.
"Now, this is the way to get up in the morning," Mike said.
The two hugged and kissed. Mike washed Dan's back and then turned Dan around so that he stood behind Dan. Mike slowly washed Dan's chest and then his stomach and then let his hands move down and down. The two men caressed each other's bodies in the shower until each had an erection. Mike knelt in front of Dan and took his erection into his mouth. Dan leaned back and moaned with pleasure. Then, the two enacted the age old rituals of male sex, without penetration.
With large towels they rubbed each other dry and walked to the bed and its tray of coffee mugs.
"This is the way to start a Saturday," Mike said. "I feel better. I am sorry I fell and ruined our evening."
"I'm sorry you fell, too," Dan said. "But, you didn't ruin anything. I spent the night with you and was here if you became ill. Not the typical first date...but, it's a first date we'll remember the rest of our lives. Now, before we start anything else, drink your coffee and let's plan our first day together. But, let's remember you were in the hospital. Let's not attempt too much."
"I'll let you know what's too much for me. I tell you what, you're not too much for me," Mike said taking Dan's penis in his hands. "You're just right."
Much of the rest of the day was spent like a personal ad from the Gay People's Chronicle -- walks in the woods, listen to good music, share quiet time. Later they walked through the Highland Square area of Akron. "This is where I'd like to live," said Dan. "I like those Tudor houses."
"I've liked those houses all my life," said Mike. "But, I like my house and where it's located."
"We can house hunt later," Dan laughed. "We've not had a first date, yet, remember."
"Dan," Mike said. "I had a dream list night. It was so vivid. I dreamed we had sex. I dreamed that you pushed yourself into me and then had an orgasm still in me."
Dan looked at Mike with disbelief.
"I guess that's wishful thinking on my part," Mike said. "Still, it was so real, so very real."
"How about dinner at Ken Stewart's Grill. I'm buying. A real date," said Dan, changing the subject.
[In the next chapter of Tales of Akron, Mike will discover how real his real dreams can be.]
