| What's Up has gone on line to reach the portion
of the Gay Akron / Canton / N.E. Ohio community that does not frequent the bars or clubs where this publication is distributed. We can now be found on the World Wide Web [ http://www.rainbow-akron.com ], under the listing of publications. Unfortunately, as with any change, all parties involved do not always, necessarily, agree with the implementation thereof. This being the case, we have lost one of our cherished contributors, and this column is conspicuously missing from this issue and we will deeply miss this impassioned, heart warming talent, which we have all come to enjoy. Contrary to what some within our community are saying we have broadened our readership and our advertising impact. Any person in the entire World that is on the Internet can read our publication in its' entirety, including all advertising for Gay or Gay friendly business'. Our web site has been given to us as a public service for our Gay constituency. The policies of this publication, as well as that of our web provider, is to give our readers as much information as is possible without being distasteful or rude. Rainbow-Akron found that a web link that was found in the contents of our magazine contained a web site that would be objectionable to many, and it was immediately severed. We continue to strive to bring you the most up to date information that we can obtain, and look forward to having more people from within our family, contribute to this end. We seek your input and help. It is our hope and desire to make the Akron / Canton / N. E. Ohio area into a model of Gay Unity. It is not, politics as usual. Our cause is Justice. Our Goal is all inclusive. Help us make a difference in the fight to eliminate the last LEGAL target of DISCRIMINATION and BIGOTRY, ie. Gay People. |
