   The University of Akron is also sponsoring educational speakers
throughout the week. Steven Plunk of the Community AIDS Network,
will be presenting a safer sex program at 8:00 P.M. in the Elm room of
Gardner Student Center on Monday, December 2, and guest speaker
Dazon Dixon will be featured at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3 in the
Summit Lounge of the student center. Finally, 'a moment of silence' will
be observed at various campus locations on Thursday, December 5 at
11:55 A.M., including the Gardner Student Center, the Polsky Building,
and the fountain in front of Bierce Library. The Kent State University is
sponsoring a candlelight vigil on Sunday, December 1 at 8:00 P.M. in the
student center plaza on Summit Drive in Kent. An AIDS auction will be
held on Monday, December 2 in the kiva of the student center. Proceeds
from the AIDS auction will benefit AIDS Research. Please call 672-2068
for more information on this event. KSU will also be sponsoring a community
forum on Tuesday, December 3, beginning at 8:00 in the Michael Schwartz
Center auditorium also on Summit Drive. The forum will feature Tom
Summers speaking on living with AIDS, Steven Plunk speaking on HIV
prevention and safer sex, and a university health center representative
speaking on new HIV treatment information.

   Please join us in love, compassion, and faith as we work together
--community to community and country to country - to deliver the message
of hope and prevention to all of our citizens. We are one world, and we
have one hope --the hope that through global partnership and community
action, we will conquer HIV/AIDS.
