Season
Hello Akron! Happy New Year! The Dance
scene is really going to
flourish this year! Some of the hot songs to be on the look out for this
first month are... "Ultra Flava" by Heller & Farley Project,
"Lunatix"
by Doc Martin presenting Blakdoktor, and "Pressure" by The Bomb
Squad.
Being in the music
business I thought I would reflect on some of the
main titles that were selling this past year. This isn't the main titles
but the "Old-School" favorites that are still a main ingredient
in the
music culture. The Ohio Players, Kool & The Gang, War, The Gap
Band, Con Funk Shun, and George Clinton. Consumers interests in
this music from the past has been the driving forces for a creative
R&B / Dance consortium. Although beat and hook driven hip-hop
continues to dominate the charts, diversity existed for listeners who
wanted more than just top 40 acts in their CD players.
There is plenty of
music to please every choice of listener... so get
out and experiment with the sounds that are flowing through the
air-waves.
Now getting to some
of the questions that I have been receiving
via my e-mail.
"Why did you start
doing Drag?" I think that was one of the most
interesting questions. So I thought that I would tackle that question
this issue. For me, Drag is a different avenue to express my creativity,
diversity, and talents. What I mean is that to me, Drag is another form
of my "magical" talents. Drag is an Illusion. What you are seeing
is
not really what is there. I find this relaxing and a chance for me to
unwind from the stress of my other life. I really get "charged"
from
being on the stage and entertaining YOU, the audience. Yes, sometimes
it really is a drag, no pun intended, but all-in-all I enjoy what I am
doing.
Hope that has answered your question.
