I see gay people pointing
their fingers to the ever present
opposition, usually the radical religious right, as the source of
all of our oppression. Truth is, WE are the source of a great
deal of our own plight as a people. Every time I feel the urge
to hide my gayness, I am second guessing the reaction that I
would get from the person I'm hiding from. I am saying to
myself that being gay is not acceptable --never giving that
person a chance to express an opinion. I assume that this
person would not treat me appropriately.
To be treated fairly
means to have people treat you from
the point of view of unclouded understanding. A person has
to know that you will not harm him or his way of life. But
apart from that, people will always create a reality based on
"us and them". "We are like us, and not like them."
Everyone
does it. There will always be groups of people that one can hate
everything about. They do it. We do it. Such it is to be human,
and we go on.................

Program
GLOBAL Education Foundation in conjunction with the North
Coast Men's Chorus and AIDS education community outreach
is producing a video tribute to all those we've lost from Northeast
Ohio. Photographs, video tapes and any other graphic images of
those missing from the Northeast Ohio community are being
sought and solicitted for inclusion in this program. To contribute
