What astonishes me the most about all of this is that
homosexuality is taught to be an unnatural abomination by many
religious leaders all over the country. But when a child is born
who is physically gender ambiguous, it is deemed to be
appropriate for some pediatrician to play God and chose a sex
role for this child. Since society at large can not accept sexual
ambiguity, lets "fix" the child. Forget trying to educate society! I
am amazed that the medical community seems to think that
human sexuality is completely dictated by what shows on the
outside of a person's body.
This raises questions in my mind about the laws that
govern marriage. With the existence of intersexuals and
transsexuals (people who have had sex changes) how can any
government determine who is truly male or female and who
should be allowed to join into the legal union of marriage? Some
day, I hope that humanity can look back on all of this gender
imposition, confusion and life ruining stigma and see it for just
how barbaric it all really is. The ignorance needs to be stopped.
People need to know about all of the natural variations of human
sexuality. I honestly believe that we should go so far as to coin
new words in the English language; a third person, singular
pronoun, not he, not she, not it, but some other word that allows
certain people dignity without a specific gender assignment.
Children should be taught, at an early age, that they, or some of
their classmates, might not be typically male or female and that
this is a perfectly natural situation. People should never be born
into a life of shame, silence and socially imposed sexual
dysfunction. Society should never be able to dictate what is right
for a person's own body. When are intelligent, compassionate
people going to stop surrendering to the idiocy of the masses?
The people who know these things, first hand, need to be heard!
We can not deny their existence any longer.
