Tales Of Akron
Chapter 28
by Dard Hanson

[In the last exciting chapter of Tales of Akron, Dan and Mike
went to Cleveland for the Gay Pride Day celebration. After a
heated exchange about the quality of the Gay Pride Parade,
Mike turned and walked away from Dan. Dan ran into an old
lust, Clark. They kissed a greeting.]

A few yards away, Mike turned just in time to see the
kiss. He looked away, took a deep breath and started walking
in the opposite direction. He walked out of the park, up the
street and to the nearest hotel. He got a room and in his room
dialed an old, familiar telephone number.

"I'll be right over," a voice said to Mike. The telephone
clicked off. Mike hurried to the shower and washed the sweat
of Gay Pride Day off his body. As he dried his fit body, he
smiled in approval, "Not bad for an old guy. Not bad at all."

Dressed only in a hotel towel, Mike answered the door.

"Thank you for calling me. I've wanted to be with you,"
a man said. "Looks like you're dressed for a white party at a
gay bar."

"Thank you for coming over on such short notice. Glad
you like the towel. It's something I picked ..."

Mike couldn't finish the sentence. The man was kissing
Mike and smothering his words with lips, tongue, fingers. In
seconds the towel was on the floor and the two men were on
the bed.

The man's clothes fell to the floor. Pillows, bed spread,
sheets seemed to lose control, too.

An hour later, Mike lay sleeping in the man's arms. The
man caressed Mike's hair, face and body and listened to his
soft, rhythmical breathing.

Mike continued sleeping and the man fell asleep, too.

The sun that had warmed the Pride Day festivities had
fallen into Lake Erie. Dan walked through the park looking for
Mike. Earlier in the day, Dan and Clark had chatted and then
Clark introduced his new partner, Hugh, to Dan.

The three men went to the beer garden to look for Mike.
When they didn't find him, they decided to have a beer and
watch for Mike.

"Surely, he'll come by looking for me," said Dan.

But, Mike was nowhere to be found.

At sunset, most of the vendors were packing away the
items they brought to Pride Day. Dan walked to their car. Mike
wasn't there.

In a hotel room a few blocks away, Mike turned in the
bed to make himself more comfortable. He reached out to
hold the man who shared the bed with him. As the sun
brightened their room, he awoke turned and saw the man
who shared his bed.

He look at his watch and groaned. Then he turned to
the man and started caressing him, arousing him, making
love to him.
