Friday rally, Oct. 10th
Pride at the Oliver Ocasek State Office Building corner of High &
Bowery. Noontime rally with speakers from Stonewall Akron, NOW, P-FLAG,
Visions and local clergy. A possible surprise
announcement by a major Summit Co. employer.
Saturday, Oct. 11th, National Coming Out Day
Showing of Love Makes a Family photographic display along with the
showing of two (as of yet unannounced) gay / lesbian theme films
at the Highland Theatre. The evenings festivities will be emceed
by Karen Williams, nationally known black, lesbian comic. Ticketmaster
is doing sales for Out In Akron event at Highland Theatre
(Tickets will be available otherwise for those who need to
pay cash)
Sunday, Oct. 12th
Speakers forum or panel of local and national speakers which
presently include a gay male couple featured in Life Magazine
on the topic of gay marriages.
Sept. 29 - Nov. 1
Love Makes a Family photographic display showing around the
Akron, Canton, Kent area.
Out in Akron is presently seeking volunteers to help with
these events, advertisers for sponsorship, additional venues for the
photographic display. if you can help in any of the following
